qmxvzy0xoday-2The kids are back into a routine, and so are you—kind of. You would think the stress would be gone now that everyone is back into the daily grind. Not!

If anything, you might be feeling a little more stress now that the seasons are changing and the holidays are beginning. Don’t let stress get the best of you. Find ways to beat the stress and improve your health!

Reduce Your Stress

As if stress isn’t horrible enough, it can also wreak havoc on your health, especially when it comes to your heart. Therefore, it is vitally important to reduce your stress level to protect your health, as well as so you can have fun with life!

Start by finding your happy place. In other words, where do you feel your most relaxed? Is it at home with loved ones? What about when you take your favorite furry friend for a walk around the neighborhood? Maybe you love dancing! No matter where your place of relaxation can be found, make sure it’s a priority on most days of the week.

Also, go ahead and throw your idea of perfection out the window. You’re just setting yourself up for failure and unwanted stress. Instead, be comfortable in the now. OK, the laundry did not get folded today. Big deal. It can wait until tomorrow. Don’t put overly high expectations on yourself. By doing so, you’ll put too much stress on your heart.

Laugh! Have fun! Make mistakes. Learn from them! This is life. It is full of ups and downs. So that project at work did not go exactly how you planned. Get up, and try again the next time. Remember, this too shall pass!
